Alongside the hills of Montjuic (Barcelona) was the chosen birthplace of Paco Aguilera on the 22th of January 1961.
Paco has “malagueñas” roots and was brought up in an artistic atmosphere, with uncles like Peret and Paco Aguilera, famous guitarist who played for singers like Manolo Caracol and Lola Flores.
His father, a bullfighter, nicknamed “Herrerito de Melilla” and his mother Pilar, a true “mañica” (from Aragón), who always gave him support.
Starts studying music and flamenco guitar at the young age of 14 and makes his approach towards the “Rumba Catalana”. He forms his first “rumbero” group called “Rumba 2000” and records his first work titled “Tápate, Maria, tápate”. Later on he forms the group called “Bordon 4”,
with a new revolutionary sound for the times.
At the age of 18, he forms his first own band “Paco Aguilery Y Su Salsa Flamenca becoming the group’s lead singer. His perseverance
and extraordinary talent lead him to sign a recording contract with HORUS and released 3 hit-songs “Me gusta tu cara”, “Bambala bambali” and “Navidad Gitana”, which went Gold.
This then I became a well know artist in the Rumba Flamenco World. This album is from 2005 and I guess it´s a sampler with his best works. If you are in flamenco and rumba ... give this album a try !
