Five out of the seven tracks on this album attached to the book "Blowing The Blues" by Pete Grant (a biography of the great Dick Heckstall-Smith) havew not been released before, the other two will not have emerged from the fog of Indy distribution for many.
Some of the gigs were recorded on cassette, later ones on minidisk. While the quality of some of these recordings is not perfect, the sheer delight of the performances illustrate what a talented wholehearted musician Dick is. This album is the tip of a very large iceberg of material waiting to be released - a powerfil mix of blues and jazz.
After listening to this album you have onyl one desire: to hear more unreleased stuff by one of the greatest jazz-musician from UK: Dick Heckstall-Smith
