I`d like to say you near a case we handled just recently, last year, about a motorcycle passenger who was involved in a very serious accident. Here is the motorcycle accident video on YouTube. She was a passenger who boarded the wheel in Meriden, ironically at a memorial service for another deceased motorcycle rider. Her driver was a friend of hers, who then proceeded up I-91 north, beginning in Meriden, ending up going through Middletown, and eventually Rocky Hill.
As part of our exhaustive investigation as an accident lawyer, we observed there was a handlebar-mounted camera on the motorcycle. We immediately secured a copy of the picture and discovered that it was activated just before the shot and it showed in real time what happened.
The operator of the wheel was racing another motorcycle at speeds in excess of 160 miles per hour. This fatal accident was devastating. Armed with that video, we were able to approach the insurance company of the motorcycle driver and the other insurance companies involved, and we were also open to determine the fact that the tractor trailer was not responsible.Upon approaching the insurance companies, they agreed with us that this was a very significant case, and they quickly settled for the entire policy limits of several hundred thousand dollars.
The client was truly pleased that we were able to get a speedy closure of this case. And it was through our efforts in obtaining both the DVD and all of her medical records and making sure that she obtained the doctors that she wish to go to that were able to get a successful result.
